HMEITHAI IN (WIDOW'S HOUSE)
Normally Hmeithai In (Widow's house) is a small house compared to other houses in the village. It doesn't have window or backdoor, nor does it have Leikapui in front of the house. However, it does have the front porch (Sumhmun) and a platform (Leika/Luhka) in front of the house as in any normal house. In the Sumhmun there are wooden mortar and pestles on the one side and a small fowl-house, chicken basket and basket for eggs on the other side. The inside of the house have a place for Tui Um, Khum-ai, Khumpui and Tapchhak etc. Since this house is without window and back door, it is normally dark even during the day. Over and above, the widow's house is the same as any another Hnamchawm (Common People) house in the village.
